With Dogs Like Ours, Who Needs Kids

Our mutts are insane. I think they will probably tear up all the grass in our back yard when we get back to Tulsa and they get to run around outside. I'm surprised they haven't already worn a track in the apartment carpet. They have taken more advantage of having a two bedroom than anyone else, they spend most of their time running a circle through the living room, 2nd bedroom, and bathroom. Edgar is also big ol' clumsy gorilla. seriously he runs into everything with is tail and his hind end, and hasn't figured out he needs to start stopping BEFORE he gets to the wall/door/kennel/whatever else he's running towards. He has also started learning not to play while on the leash, so as soon as I take off both their leashes he jumps on top of Ruekie.

In other news Stephanie's white blood cell counts have been a little low the past couple of weeks, not so low that anyone is worried yet, but low enough for them to remind us to call if she has a fever. We have also had a different Medical Oncologist the past couple of weeks, she's been very nice, and like Dr. Bienvenu is ready and willing to write whatever prescription we need. It must be something the teach at that practice. Stephanie is also a little anemic which explains why she has seldom ventured from bed the past couple of days. She looks pretty pathetic most of the time, and Dr. Pou says I'm the one with puppy dog eyes!

I'm the first to leave a comment - oh the joy!! I'm glad the treatments are over! And I am also so thankful that the LORD has grown you two closer together. What a blessing to come out of this! We love you both and are still praying! Love, Brad and Gina

I love the Edgar and Ruekie stories! I know you can just feel "icky" when you are anemic. Are you taking iron? I know the feedings must have all kinds of nutrients. Just stay in where it is cool and try to get some rest.It is SO hot here! HUGS from Arkansas! Cindy

Hi Stephanie,

I feel for you tonight. When you don't have any energy and hurt on top of that, it's hard. But better times are just around the corner. Our prayers for you are not just empty words. We're asking the Lord to bring you back to good health according to His good and perfect will. And we know that His will is to work for your good and His glory. He's already been glorified through you and Warner. He is with you every step of this journey, and He has used you to bless our hearts.

Psalms 121:1-3... "I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber."

I think I'll join that group. "With dogs like ours, who needs kids." Our dog is....well....special. But you know this, the dang spaz. Except she went swimming and diving all day so she's out at the moment.

Wow. I so feel for you... found your blog while searching and playing tonight ... the joys of not being able to sleep.... I kinda like u got the dreaded news of cancer, mine was in the upper gingiva... I went to dentists for wisdom extractions and for a tiny spot that had come up they took a biopsy of it in february and it came back a week later Squamous cell carcinoma of the upper gingiva.. so on march 18 i had the surgery to remove it..In the month time it went from a small spot to the size of a golfball . They ended up havign to do a partial maxilectomy i lost the 7top front teeth and gum and all and half of my palate up top. I laughed at your sucky thing from the hospital i so missed that when they sent me home.... Well after that healed because of the size of the tumor they decided that i neeeded to have radiation so started 30 treatments i have to say that is the worst i have ever been through all teh same as u the dry mouth, the burns, the not beign able to eat...July 2nd was my last treament... and sorry to say i still have the burns on teh tongue, sooo painful adn the blisters that pop up in diff places all over the mouth...Drs get lost on giving answers because like u are young.. and the cancer is usually seen in extreme smokers and older people im 32 married with 3 lil kids... 4 if u count my hubby... It has def switched it around here alot...The hard thing is not beign able to eat what every one else is eating... the burns are still there teh blisters and u have the point where even water burns and days where the pain is just more than u want... they are tryign to wean me off pain killers now.. so i have to take percocet every 4-6hours and they moved my oxycontin from morning and night to just night now.... if u ever just wanna talk or just vent or anythign i know some of it helps and hard with people that feel for u and try to understand what u are feeling just cant ... my email is tweetstoy@hotmail.com i also use it as my messenger.... we lived down in Louisana a few times we lived in kenner outside or ....new orleans and bossier city.... i miss it sometimes....My name is Jessica drop me a line anytime

About the 6th comment--isn't it amazing the way communicayion has excelerated via email, blogs,etc--what a wonderful platform you have to brag on our great God! AND you both have done that! I was not glad to hear about Jessica's lingering pain-but I have strong suspicions that it wasn't news to you--you have done an incredible job of downplaying the pain aspect-- I pray that yours goes away so quickly that your doctors are amazed--After all your Healer can do anything on or off schedule! We love you so much--Sorry I'm not about to agree that dogs are as good as children--that may be because I am surrounded by 4 of my 5 grandchildren this morning.
Love you both bunches
